Leon Breitling started Breitling Watches in a small workshop that specialized in making chronographs and precision counters for industrial and scientific purposes. In 1914, his son Gaston created the first wristwatch chronograph and gave them to pilots for the test them.
In 1952 Breitling launched the Navitimer range. Models in the range are the Navitimer 50th Anniversary, Navitimer Heritage, Navitimer Breitling Fighters, Navitimer Olympus, Cosmonaute, Montbrillant and Montbrillant Datora.
The Navitimer is a wrist instrument, equipped with the famous "navigation computer" capable of handling all calculations called for by a flight plan. The new Chronomat, the Aerospace, the Emergency and the B-1 were the new models launched under this company.
