Have you ever wondered why the HP printer ink software warns you of low ink levels long before the ink cartridge actually needs to be replaced?
The HP printer ink level gauge first shows Low On Ink and then Out Of Ink. Consider the HP printer ink level gauge like a fuel gauge of your car.
The Low On Ink light should always come on before you run out of gas, or in this situation, HP printer ink. What's the point of having it if it doesn't warn you of a problem?
You usually fill your car with fuel car before running out, but how do you know how accurate your fuel gauge is?
Fuel gauges in cars use a fuel level sensor in the tank to determine how much fuel remains. HP inkjet printers, on the other hand, generally only estimate as best they can how much ink is left by estimating how much ink has been used since the supply was first installed.
Because everyone uses ink differently, according to what they print and under different circumstances, there is naturally some variables in the estimate of how much ink has been used.
There is also some variables in the amount of ink that the printer may get out of a particular cartridge. So the HP printer only estimates how much ink remains at the Low On Ink level.
So some users will be nearly out of printer ink and some may still be able to print a large number of pages.
HP continually updates and improves their printers and their features, and as new technology is developed, they incorporate it into new printers when ever possible.
So the next time your HP printer ink software warns you of low ink levels you may want to have a spare HP printer ink cartridge handy just in case.
